Beyond the mashup? Let me dare sketch a sneak preview here.
Sketch for an M3D Glider User Experience/ User interface. Courtesy of Incubator Cube, Utrecht (NLD), special thanks to Henk Croon (Cube). Read the article 'Geosimulatie tot een succes maken' ('Make geo-simulation a succes') by LiveWire.nl (Case of the month, april 2007, Dutch), and Syntens.nl .
'Beyond the mashup'*.
More on geo- 3D simulation is due to unfold at http://www.geo-games.eu (redesign phase to suit our new, fresh, * tagline!) and at http://globeglider.net (Globe Glider Enabling Technology).
* (Synch on: Google Maps, Google Earth & Microsoft Virtual Earth)
So what is it they do over at GeoGames?
mashup, come again? Wiktionary says:
- (slang) A derivative work consisting of two pieces of (generally digital) media conjoined together in some interesting way, such as a video clip with a different soundtrack applied for humorous effect, or a digital map overlaid with user-supplied data.
After meeting up with our dedicated technology partner
Bernhard Sterzbach (Globe Glider) last week-end, all seem to fall into place gently - as in landing or better, as in free gliding.
Simultaneously, FastCompany.com writes a short about Google MyMaps, there.
Much Ado About Nothing? Stay tuned for news unfolding, that is, beyond the mashup.

Beyond the mash-up is the new approach to having a more user-friendly way of navigating geo-browsers.
Giving the user the feeling of being the discoverer.
It's time to start gliding.
